How is my data handled?
Who holds your data
Emerald Counseling, 6900 Lugano, Switzerland, runs Shades of Woman and is responsible for the personal data described here. Write to info@emeraldcounseling.ch with any question about your data.
What we store
Your email address and name to sign you in; your settings; your journeys and everything you write in them; and simple statistics about how pages and rounds are used, which never contain your words.
Why we store it
To run the game for you: to save your progress, let you resume on any device, send the reminders you asked for, and improve the game as a whole. We never show ads and never sell data.
Where it is stored
On secure servers in the European Union, handled under the EU GDPR and the Swiss revised Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP). Email is sent through our mail provider.
How the AI works
When a goddess speaks, the words you have chosen to share are sent to an AI service only to write her reply. They are not used to train AI models, and we never keep logs of what you wrote. Answers you mark private may shape a question but are never quoted back. You can switch AI voices off in your settings.
How long we keep it
Your journeys stay as long as your account exists. Statistics are kept in aggregate. When you delete your account, everything you wrote is removed straight away and we will not email you again.
Your rights
You can see, export and delete your data at any time from Settings → My data, in one step. You can also ask us to correct anything, or object to any use, by writing to us.
Not therapy
Shades of Woman is a game for reflection and play. If something you write suggests you may need support, the game pauses and shows where to find help in your country.
